LogMeIn Cafeteria Food: Not bad?

Alright a little feature here.  A weeks worth of cafeteria food.  First we have a pretty simple Ham and Cheese sandwich with a bit of salami on it and pickles.  Honestly, not my first choice, but the "sandwich of the day" was already off the menu because I got down there too late.  At least the Jalapeno chips were awesome.  Next up, a Grilled Turkey Panini w/ Pesto and Tomatoes, they had some cool name for this but I forgot what it was.  It was surprisingly delicious, came with a side macaroni salad and of course I got the Jalapeno chips.  The following day I hit up the southwest chicken wrap.  Nuff said.  Finally, a Rachel on Dark Rye, cheesy, delicious they put some sort of salady thing in there as well added a good amount of flavor.  Came with a pickle too so that was a plus.  All in all I am fairly impressed by the quality of food delivered by the Cafeteria here at LogMeIn, I mean it's not the best food ever, but I certainly have no problem grabbing one of their special daily sandwiches.  Plus I have a severe addiction to these Jalapeno chips.

Sushi: The Best Pre-Binge Drinking Dinner?

Yep.  It really is.  It's pretty simple... Sushi is delicious, it has enough rice and substance to soak up alcoholic beverages so you don't die, but doesn't fill you up so you can drink all night and not feel fat.  Also its quick and easy, you can chow down a sizable amount of food rapidly so you can get out more quickly.  This all worked out last Friday because I was hungry, but had a big night out for TC's Birthday Party bus.  Also I had about1  hour to eat so options were limited.  I got this little number delivered from Mootones which is right down the street in Andover.  $18 bucks, I got 6 pieces of spicy tuna maki, 6 pieces of Avocado maki and 8 pieces of assorted sushi.  All things considered it was pretty good, I was a little disappointed in the rice though to be honest, it was falling apart not quite as sticky as I like it, and the Shrimp Sushi was flavorless.  Anyway it did what I needed it to though, filled me up and I had a great time out on the party bus without getting sick.

Chipotle Barbacoa Bowl $9.50

Had a serious craving for Mexican today at work.  Solution, Chipotle in Woburn.  God I love this place.  Historically I always get the Barbacoa Burrito, but recently I've been opting for the Burrito bowl.  My reasons are two-fold.  Firstly, the wrap part of a burrito is far the WORST part of the burrito, both health wise and flavor wise.  Secondly the burrito bowl is about 5x more food.  Seriously its outrageous how much food they cram into this little bowl.  So I got the Barbacoa, half portion of brown rice, 2 scoops of tomato, hot sauce, cheese corn and opted for the guacamole.  Honestly if your getting Mexican food and your skipping on the guac cause its a 2 bucks extra you need to get some realism and stop being an idiot.  The guac at Chipotle is especially ridiculous.  Chipotle advertises fresh ingredients and they deliver, the guac was so fresh it wasn't just all a mush, I actually had full legit pieces of guacamole in it.  Bottom line is, this bowl is the champion of fast food lunches.  Couldn't even finish it it was so huge I was in pain and had to leave 2 bites in there and threw it out. I know I know a waste, but I WAS IN PAIN!  Anyway well worth the $9.50, and outrageously delicious.

Turkey Pesto Panini and Jalapeno Chips, $7

Just enjoyed a surprisingly good sandwich at work.  To be honest I wen't down to the cafe just to get some Jalapeno chips, but when I saw this I had to try it.  It's a Turkey sandwich with Pesto, cheese and tomato's grilled up toasty.  I had brought lunch to work, and we even got free Panera but I mean look at this... how could I say no?  Anyway it turned out to be well worth the $7 bucks (including chips), tomatoes were fresh, turkey melted in my mouth and the pesto sauce added flavor that I never get when I try to make one of these at home.  I never have pesto at home wtf.  Anyway, in addition to the chips, which are always a good decision if you like spicy foods it turned out to be a real good lunch.  Just had a glass of water with it though, which is a bit boring.  Oh well.  30 minute lunch breaks at work though, clearly not enough time to really enjoy eating, had to scarf it down while reviewing some news on CNN.com

Bones Atlanta: Appetizers for FREE!

So went to Bones in Hotlanta GA. for my Brothers bachelor party dinner.  12 guys, all in full suits, drinking scotch and wine and just having a general great time. We ordered up a few plates of these delicious appetizers; on the left you'll see Alaskan Jumbo lump Crab  meat cold, in a bed of lettuce.  On the right you see a Kobe Tenderloin Carpaccio with arugula and Parmesan.  Dr. Mark Burrel gets credit for insisting we get the crab meat, it was amazing.  Of course the Carpaccio was also a big hit, although it was VERY thin and a bit hard to scrape of the plate. Either way they were both pretty delicious, the crab had such a unique flavor its hard to describe, and the Tenderloin was perfect raw, and had just the right amount of spices.  Hilarious end to the night though, after we finish up our appetizers, the waiter comes in and says "Small problem, well actually its a big problem...our kitchen just blew up and we can't cook any of your steaks."  Make a long story short, we worked with Bones who got us into Chops (Voted Top 10 Steakhouse in the country 10 years in a row) and ate with Dikembe Matombo, Patrick Ewing and Denzel Washington.  No big deal.  OH! and everything we had at Bones was comped! FREE!
