Patriots Sunday vs. Bengals vs. Wingit vs. Berman and Levine

Keep in mind, Levine and I had
already eaten quite a bit when I took
these Pictures.......
First Patriots Sunday of the regular season, my buddy Levine came into Boston to watch the game.  We ordered up, check this out - $40.00 dollars worth of wings from what apparently is the only REAL wing place that will deliver to Northeastern in Boston - Wing-It.

Yes we tried Wings over Brookline, and those dummies wouldn't deliver even after I offered to pay 15% more and tip on it and have it delivered at an off time.  Whatever poor business managment.

Anyway, Wing-It was our only option and luckily it turned out pretty damn good.  We ordered up a medium regular wings with hot sauce (12 pieces) and a Large boneless wing (Seemed to be around 1.5 lbs ish) of half hot sauce, half honey BBQ - 2 cokes and extra ranch.  It was a bloodbath.  Which was interestingly what the pats game was too.  I don't know what all the critics are thinking but the Pats D looks tough, and Brady and Welker look to be right back in the same rythm they left last year.  Oh right the wings, some of them were a little dry I admit, but overall they were packed with flavor, delicious, and very meaty.  Turns out, who needs "Wings Over" anyway; just Wing-it!

Obviously we couldn't finish all the wings, so I have some left over which is good, I have to stretch it out so it can pay for itself.

Qdoba Queso Burrito Round 2

Well I won't drag this out much, hit Qdoba again last night with Levine prior to going out.  I was starving.  Got my usual - and this time drenched it in Cholula hot sauce, which for the record, is not very hot - its more sweet but I really like it.  Anyway washed it down with a Nantucket Nectar Half and Half.  It was as good as it always is from Qdoba, and under $9.00 (much better than what I would of spent if I had waited and got food at the bars.)

ABP - Grilled Chicken Ceasar Wrap

Swung into ABP (Au Bon Pan) with my grandparents and my mom who came onto campus to see my dorm today.  Got the Grilled Ceasar Chicken Wrap, but this time I gave instructions to my sandwhich maker to only use fresh/hot grilled chicken, put half the usual amount of lettuce and double the ceasar dressing.  The result? I much tastier wrap.  If you recall last time my sandwhich from ABP was dry, to lettucey and well just not that good.  This one was the opposite - very flavorful, it wasn't overflowing with lettuce which just dulls out the flavor and makes it to crunchy, and the extra dressing helped avoid any dryness.  Also the fresh/hot chicken didn't have any fatty pieces, and melted in my mouth.  Bravo ABP.

WOW! Outtakes is awesome!

Northeastern has this oncampus to go eating location called Outakes.  Basically it accepts swipes of your Husky ID towards your meal plan usage and you can get your food to go instead of eating the dining hall.  I have never tried it before so I figured i'd go for it.  8 Points is one swipe keep that in mind.  I walk into the place, and first grab some vegetable gyoza - 2 points.  I pick up a gatorade - 2 points.  Then I grab a pasta and meatball dinner - 2 points.  I already have a whole meal, and I still have 2 points! So I grab a chicken and roast potatoes meal as well 8 points and I head home.  I realize that this is way to much food for one meal, so I throw the chicken and roast potatoes in the fridge and opt for the pasta and gyoza.  Good choice!  The meatballs, although a little sauce were nice and flavorful and although the pasta itself was a little blah, the sauce added enough flavor that it was easy to eat.  The gyoza with a little soy sauce were just like gyoza at any restuarant.  What surprised me was the amount of food, just the pasta/meatballs and gyoza was hard for me to finish.  Anyway, stay tuned for when I eat the other 2 point meal I got Chicken and Roasted potatoes; I hope it is as good!

The Northeastern

Lunch a few days I swung into Northeasterns on campus grocer Wollastons for a bite to eat, and decided to go with the Northeastern Sandwhich.  Basically its a turkey and ham sandwhich with provalone cheese, tommato, onion and lettuce on french bread with a little mayonase.  Becca hooked up me up with Lays BBQ chips and Dole Orange Pineapple Juice - and for a bit more flavor I dipped the sandwhich in some mustard courtsey of Becca's roomate.  It was pretty delicious and filled me up no problem thanks to its size, and for under $8.00 a good deal; I highly recommend it.

Bonus

You will have noticed I haven't posted much in the last week - well that is because I have been moving back to school, going to my first classes of the semester, setting up etc. and haven't had much time to blog. One of the things RJ and I setup in our new dorm is worthy of sharing though.  Although horribly makeshift, short and skinny - it will get the job done and provide lots of entertainment! Take a look.

Qdoba Queso Burrito

So having moved back to school, I decided I had to almost immediatley hit up my favorite burrito spot on campus, which happens to be a Qdoba on Huntington Ave.  It also happens that my new dorm is approximately 400 feet from Qdoba now so its really convienient.

I got my usual, a steak queso burrito, with rice, black beans, a mix of hot and mild salsa cheese and of course a healthy portion of queso dip.  In my opinion this the creme de la creme of burritos at Qdoba.  The addition of the queso adds a lot of flavor, but also alters the texture of the burrito as a whole in a way that I find enjoyable by moistining the entire meal a little you avoid any dryness that can sometimes happen.  It makes it a tad sloppier, but I sorta like that.  The only drawback of Qdoba burritos is the wrap itself, its really sticky and always gets in your teeth.  Overall though it was great, and I am pretty sure a lot of my cash will end up going into queso burritos this year.

The 99 Three Course Meal - $12.99

So whilst doing some back to school shopping yesterday with the Mom, we inevitably got hungry and decided to swing into The '99 bar for some food.  I was originally planning on getting my usual Chicken Wrap, but I saw they had a few new menu items one of which was this Chicken and Sausage al Forno dish.  I had to have it.  Then the waitress told me that for just $3.00 dollars more I could upgrade and make it this kick ass full three course meal complete with a starter soup and desert.  Now I really had to have it.  I went with the French Onion soup to start off, it was delicious, who doesn't love melted cheese on bread with onion right? No for real though, it was very good and I highly recommend if your not planning on breathing on anyone for a few hours afterwards getting it everytime at the 99.

Then came the Chicken and Sausage al Forno; it was Penne pasta tossed with some roasted chicken and italian sausages, covered with mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce.  I am pretty sure I also tasted some parmesean cheese mixed in there as well.  I guess they throw it in the oven, and the whole thing came out hot and bubbly; good thing I like my mozzarella when its a little crispy.  It also came with a little bread on the side, although the bread was a little stale by dipping into the pasta sauce it actually turned out fine.  The dish was great, The sausage had a little kick to it and the chicken wasnt fatty or chewy, and there was quite a bit of it in there.  The pasta, as usual in the U.S.A was over cooked (Where can I get Pasta Al Dente!!), but still pretty enjoyable and like I've said being a huge cheese lover the Mozzarella was killer.

For desert I finished off with a Key Lime Pie/Cheesecake?  I am not sure if it was actually cheesecake, but Ive never had Key Lime Pie before and it seemed to be basically like cheesecake, it had the same sort of crust and consistency as cheesecake anyway.  The key lime desert was excellent and I think I've found something new that I enjoy.

Anyway all for $12.99 (Thanks Mom) at the '99!
