Becca and I stopped off a diner in South Boston about a week or so ago. I'm not going to lie, it's not located in the best part of Boston and the exterior of this place had me wondering if I would make it out alive. Well don't judge a book by it's cover. Inside it was well decorated, festive and fun. It has nice LCD TV's and a cool bar. For a diner, it was actually fairly upscale. Anyway, I ordered up the ShortRib with Mac 'n Cheese from the entree list. Not much a breakfast guy. It was really good! It didn't look like a huge portion of food when it first arrived, and I was a bit jealous of Becca's massive french toast but the Mac 'n Cheese was incredibly rich and soon enough I was filling up. The ShortRib melted in my mouth, was cooked perfectly not fatty and very tender. I topped the entire entree off with some Franks Red Hot because well.....It's a diner so it seemed appropriate.
I did manage to snag a few bites of Becca's French Toast, and that was killer too. I recommend this place if your you want to try out a real good local diner. I'm pretty sure it's in South Boston technically, but it's real close to the BackBay as well - near the SouthBay Plaza.. That might be Roxbury actually?
